Funding speed

When your money lands: next-day funding.

Next-day funding comes standard with your Moneybox merchant account — it isn’t an upgrade you pay extra for. Here’s exactly how next-day funding works, including the honest part: when a deposit can still be held.

How next-day funding works

  • Close your batch by [cutoff time + time zone].
  • Funds are deposited the next business day, usually by [approx. time].
  • Weekends and holidays: [confirm handling].
  • Next-day funding is included — no instant-payout percentage.

Need it faster? Same-day and near-real-time options may be available depending on your account and processor. We list those as “ask us” until the fees and eligibility are confirmed in writing — [same-day funding availability].

Can a deposit be held? Honestly, yes.

Any processor can review a payment, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we do is make it far less likely — and make sure you know who to call if it happens. A hold is most common in three situations:

  • The first transactions on a brand-new account, which often get a quick review.
  • A single sale far above the high ticket your account was approved for.
  • A chargeback rate running above about 1%.

That’s exactly why we approve you with realistic numbers up front, with room to grow. If a review does happen, you call our team and we work it with the processor — you’re not stuck in a ticket queue. Read: why processors freeze funds →

What next-day funding means for your cash flow

For a small business, the gap between a sale and the money in your account is real. Many flat-rate apps hold your deposit for two business days, or charge a percentage to release it sooner. Next-day funding closes that gap: close your batch, and the money is in your bank the next business day, at no extra charge. For a shop doing twenty or thirty thousand dollars a month, that can be the difference between making payroll on time and waiting on a payout.

Next-day funding also makes your cash flow predictable. You know when the money lands, so you can time supplier payments, restock and payroll around it instead of guessing. And because we underwrite your account properly up front — with your real volume and ticket sizes — your deposits are far less likely to be held for a surprise review later. If a question ever does come up, you call our team and we work it with the processor, so your money keeps moving.

Getting set up for next-day funding

Next-day funding isn’t something you switch on after the fact — it’s part of how we board your account from day one. When we build your application, we set your deposit account, your batch schedule and your expected volume so the processor knows exactly how your money should move. That means fewer surprises once you’re live.

Most merchants keep their existing bank account; we simply point your settlement to it and run a small test deposit before you take real cards. If you sell more than one way — a counter, a website, a booth at a show — we can settle them to the same account so your money arrives together, on the same next-business-day schedule.

There’s nothing extra to buy for next-day funding, and no separate “instant” tier to upgrade to. The cutoff time and deposit timing are written on your account summary, not buried in a dashboard, so you always know when to expect your money. If your volume grows or your business changes, tell us — we’ll re-check your limits so a good month is less likely to trigger a review. And if you ever want faster-than-next-day settlement, we’ll quote the real cost and eligibility in writing instead of pretending it’s free.

Next-day funding questions, answered

When exactly do I get paid?

When you close your batch by the daily cutoff, the funds are sent to your bank and land the next business day. The exact cutoff and deposit time are confirmed on your account — [cutoff time + time zone] — and they’re written on your account summary.

Do I get funded on weekends and holidays?

Card networks and banks settle on business days, so a Saturday sale funds on the next business day, the same as most merchant accounts. If a faster, weekend-inclusive option is available on your account, we’ll tell you the terms up front rather than bury them — [same-day / weekend availability].

Is next-day funding really included, with no percentage?

Yes. Next-day funding is part of your account, not a paid upgrade. That’s different from flat-rate apps that charge 1.5% to 1.95% every time you want your money sooner. You keep that percentage. Competitor fees as of October 2026.

What if a deposit is held?

It can happen on any processor — usually a first-transaction review on a new account, a sale well above your approved high ticket, or a spike in chargebacks. We underwrite you up front to keep that unlikely, and if it happens you call our team and we work it with the processor directly.
